    Panos qualified as a physiotherapist both in the TEI of Athens, Greece, and the Department of Physiotherapy in the University of Ulster at Jordanstown. Following qualification, he embarked on postgraduate research studies in the Faculty of Science of the UUJ, researching the analgesic effects of acupuncture upon experimentally induced muscle pain. In parallel to his research studies, he completed a licentiate in acupuncture from the British College of Acupuncture.

    Currently Panos holds the position of Lecturer in the School of Health and Rehabilitation in Keele University, where he is responsible for Masters modules in acupuncture as well as the physiology and pharmacology of pain and analgesia within the MSc framework of SHAR in Keele University. He has been involved in several research projects related to the analgesic effects of acupuncture in osteoarthritis and back pain in pregnancy. He lectures extensively in Masters and graduate courses on acupuncture, physiology of pain and analgesia and acupuncture practice. He also fulfills a clinical role as a senior physiotherapist in private practice.
